Our Next “Adopt-A-School” Good News Club Team Orientation Training

Each week, many hundreds of children are hearing the Word of God being taught in their public elementary school in 65 after-school GOOD NEWS CLUBS across our area, and God is changing lives! This spring, will you take this powerful opportunity to impact the lives of children and their families for Jesus by having a Good News Club in your school/community?

We are trusting God for a Good News Club in every elementary school (nearly 600 total in our area) in each school district!

A Good News Club meets once a week for 1 1/2 hours right after school, and the club time includes a Bible lesson, missionary story, Scripture memory, games, songs, and more. It's a great place for children to be! Your church provides follow-up on the club. School teams continue to be formed at this time. A minimum of 4-5 people is required for a Good News Club team (which can include adults and teens). A Good News Club team may be provided by one church or may consist of individuals from various churches, homeschool groups, etc... CEF will train and provide ongoing support for each school team.

How do you begin a Good News Club outreach?

1. Prayerfully target an elementary school or other location in your community. CEF assists you in making the needed contacts.

2. Trust God to raise up a team of 4-5 or more people to teach & help at the club. Follow-up is done through a local church(es).

3. CEF provides training, ongoing leadership support, and has teaching materials. Maximum monthly cost for a club is $50-$60.

Jesus is the Reason for the Easter season....

Easter Party Clubs are coming!

You can reach out to boys and girls in your neighborhood/community with the good news of Christ this Easter!  An Easter Party Club (1 1/2 hours long) can be held in a home, church, daycare center, apartment complex, community center, or Good News Club.

Children will hear an evangelistic Easter lesson, learn a memory verse, sing songs, play holiday games, and enjoy a simple refreshment.  Special party invitations are available to use in inviting the children.
If you would like to teach or help with a party, materials are available from the local CEF office, and we would like to invite you to join us for our Easter Party Club workshop in April.

The Ultimate Summer Adventure…Christian Youth-in-Action 2011

CYIA (Christian Youth-in-Action) is a comprehensive summer missions training course for teens (who have completed 8th grade through high school) to learn how to teach children the truths of God's Word.  The first week of training you will receive extensive instruction from a variety of well-trained, experienced CEF workers.  You will learn to share the Gospel one-on-one, teach effective Bible lessons, share exciting missionary stories, and develop a full program with songs, memory verses, and review games.

During the second week, you will have the opportunity to use your training by participating in 5-Day Clubs in the Hannibal, MO area under the supervision of an adult leader.  5-Day Clubs meet for 1 ½ hrs. each day for five consecutive days and are designed to take the Gospel to where the boys and girls are--in the neighborhoods and communities.  When you return to the local Kansas City area after training, you will conduct nine 5-Day Clubs with other team members throughout the summer.

*CYIA training dates: June 12-25
*Training location: Hannibal, MO
*Cost: $400.00
*Application deadline: May 1st (Contact the local CEF office for an application packet.)

Adult driver/supervisors are also needed for the local summer ministry to help transport and supervise the CYIA teaching teams when they are conducting the 5-Day Clubs.  Please contact Christy for more details.

Open Your Heart to Children This Summer…

Text Box: Have a 5-Day Club!

How?

For 1 ½ hrs. each day, for 5 consecutive days, children ages 3-12 gather in neighborhood backyards or other locations (parks, community centers, daycare centers, apartment complexes, camps, schools, or churches) to hear dynamic Bible lessons, sing scriptural songs, participate in creative learning activities/games, learn Bible verses, listen to an inspiring missionary story, and hear the Gospel clearly presented.  Bible truths for the Christian child’s spiritual growth are also taught each day.  Parents are welcome to attend.   Materials are available, including printed invitations with an explanation of the program to parents.  The 5-Day Club teaching kit for 2011 includes the Bible lesson series, Turned AroundThis full-color flashcard series features lessons about Zaccheus, Mephibosheth, Noah, the Ethiopian Treasurer, and Saul’s conversion.  Also included in the kit are visualized songs & CD, verses, review game ideas, & the true-life, action-packed missionary story of Mary Slessor-- Run, Ma, Run.

Who can teach?

5-Day Clubs are taught by trained volunteer teens and adults who are burdened for the salvation and Christian growth of children in their own neighborhood or other areas.  Teens can also choose to attend summer missionary training program, Christian Youth-in-Action, in the month of June and then teach clubs around our Greater Kansas City Area this summer (call for CYIA info.).  You can teach or help with a club, too! We need more volunteer teachers, helpers, & hosts.  Local training on June 4th is available—see below.

Who can host and when?

You or your church can!  Call the CEF office today to schedule a team to present your club.  5-Day Clubs take place during the summer months of June, July, and August during the morning (10:30-Noon); afternoon (1:00-2:30 or 3:30-5:00 p.m.); and evening (6:30-8:00 p.m.)
